ABOUT DEPARTMENT

The department of Science and Humanities of the Institution includes four main branches namely Mathematics , Physics, Chemistry and English. All these branches are functioning from the inception of the Institution, to cater the needs of budding engineers of all branches of engineering in strengthening their knowledge in Physics chemistry, fundamentals of engineering mathematics and Communication skills.

FROM THE HOD'S DESK

Science & Humanities department was established with a vision to be a center of excellence for newly admitted students coming from the school environment to technical environment / new world of technology.

The department builds foundations for engineering knowledge and skills in the respective disciplines. Mathematics is all pervasive and no field of engineering is complete without it. Students are therefore given a thorough grounding in mathematics during the first year and advanced subjects in subsequent years.

Environmental Studies sensitizes the students regarding the current environmental issues and awareness regarding the ways to protect and create a culture of green environment from getting deteriorated.

On the whole, the students in the first year are trained to explore, to innovate, to analyze and to acquaint themselves with the applications of basic sciences in engineering and technological areas.

From the first year itself, the institute tries to infuse self confidence in our students and help them to develop the Communication and Interpersonal Skills and demeanor of lifelong learning so that they can become academically competent and capable of facing the future with resilience and optimism.

The department provides its students with a number of opportunities to develop their overall personality by participating in the various cultural and co-curricular activities held throughout the year .The faculty members of the department take very active part in organizing these activities. The department not only nurtures the young minds academically but also prepares them to accept the challenges of the society.

M4: Enabling them to communicate effectively for industrial exposure.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)

PEO 1: To empower the students technically catering to the contemporary needs of the society, with a solid foundation of fundamentals of science and engineering.
PEO 2: To inculcate ethical, social responsibility and environmental consciousness in budding engineers who can fulfill the needs and demands of society in general and individual in particular.
PEO 3: To channelize the talent to formulate disciplined personality.
PEO 4: To enhance commitment, sustained learning and adaptability to a constantly changing environment.
PEO 5: To inculcate expertise with the ability to use it for contemporary problem solving process.
